Clermont homeless ministry robbed of cash, laptops in 'smash-and-grab'

CLERMONT --

A Lake County group that helps the homeless began cleaning up Tuesday aftern police said someone broke in overnight and stole cash, checks and laptops from New Beginnings, in Clermont.

Police arrived just after 8 a.m. to the facility on East Montrose Street, off U.S. Highway 27 just north of State Road 50, after employees found the glass front door shattered and locks on the back door and several offices inside severed.
